DJ Carl Cox wants Susan Boyle for remix to ‘rock the nation’ with her voice
Legendary DJ Carl Cox has said it would be interesting to do a mix of a song with Susan Boyle after admitting she rocked the nation with her voice.
Carl has a long running love affair with Scotland which has seen him play here since the 1990s.
He was here to DJ at Club Rewind in Barras Art and Design Centre last night and will return on Sunday September 26 to play at Colours Bank Holiday weekend special event in SWG3.
He said of his visit: “It’s my first trip to Scotland since the pandemic and It’s rainy as normal. I’m back on Sunday for Ricky McGowan. I kind of miss being up here.
“I’ve never had a bad party up here. For me it’s always challenging.
“The people in Glasgow always want me to pump it up more.”
Asked if he had his eye on any Scottish talent Carl admitted he always keeps his eyes on ears open but he would love to make music with Susan Boyle.
He said of the singer: “She does have a good voice doesn’t she?

“When she won BGT and everyone was so happy for her and gave her support she really did rock the nation.
“I didn’t think she had that voice. I thought it would be a disaster. She sang and I thought what is going on. A set with Susan Boyle why not?”
Carl who jets around the world and gets VIP treatment wherever he goes, also recalled one time he was in Glasgow and got less than salubrious treatment.
He laughed: “I got bundled in a back of a construction truck full of concrete once. They said ‘we’ve got you transport back home’.
“I had to sit in the back and it was full of concrete and it trundled to our hotel.”
Carl’s set at Barras Art and Design Centre was a first for the UK as it saw a B2B with Pete Tong in London 500 miles away at Ministry of Sound club which was made possible by Virgin Media’s gigabit broadband.
He said: “Working together back to back from different locations I would say is voodoo and witchcraft. Its the first time we have seen the likes of anything like this.”
