Prince Charles and Camilla arrive in Glasgow for COP26 opening address
Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall Camilla have arrived in Glasgow to give the opening address at the COP26 Climate Summit being held in the city.
Charles, who is known as the Duke of Rothesay in Scotland, will be delivering the opening address at the Summit as he did during the 2015 conference in Paris.
The Prince of Wales will address leaders and is expected to stress the urgency of action by calling for “war-like footing” and a “military-style campaign” to get the private sector to make the changes to address urgent environmental issues.
The 72-year-old heir to the British throne has always been vocal about speaking out on environmental issues such as climate change.

He will also be joined at COP26 by Prince William and his wife Kate, but unfortunately the Queen will not be travelling to Glasgow.
The world’s oldest and longest-reigning monarch will continue to rest at her Windsor Castle after her hospital stay last week.

She carried out her first official engagement after leaving hospital on Tuesday by holding two virtual audiences to welcome new ambassadors to Britain from South Korea and Switzerland.
Before arriving in Glasgow for COP26, the Prince of Wales sat down with billionaire Amazon boss Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez.
The trio were seen on Bezos’ social media enjoying a cup of tea at Dumfries House, a Scottish country mansion 40 minutes from Glasgow.

Bezos wrote: “The Prince of Wales has been involved in fighting climate change and protecting our beautiful world for five decades — far longer than most.
“We had a chance to discuss these important issues on the eve of #COP26 — looking for solutions to heal our world, and how the @BezosEarthFund can help.”
