Irvine Welsh and Still Game’s Gavin Mitchell celebrate with pals at Glasgow dinner

Scots author Irvine Welsh enjoyed dinner with pals, including Still Game ‘s Gavin Mitchell at Glasgow restaurant Sarti’s before a screening of his new show Crime at the Glasgow Film Theatre.

The group were out celebrating the Welsh’s first television series of his 2008 novel Crime.

The book has been turned into a six part series starring Joanna Vanderham, Angela Griffin, Ken Stott and Jamie Sives.

Crime has been adapted by Welsh and screenwriting partner Dean Cavanagh, and follows Ray Lennox as he investigates the disappearance of a school girl in the area whilst battling his own demons.

The Trainspotting author captioned the post on Instagram: “Great nosh and the usual belly laughs with those beautiful bams @gavsterno1@simonweir1 and @tamdeanburn at the ever excellent #sartis before the screening of #Crime at the @glasgowfilmtheatre yesterday.”

Gavin, best known for his iconic role as Bobby the Barman in Still Game shared the photo on social media as well.

He captioned the photo of the foursome: “So lovely to be oot and aboot and reconvene the Hellfire Club for some lovely food and chat with these rascals after so long ! Then onto the GFT for the screening of ‘Crime’. You’re in for one hell of a ride , starting on the 18th of November exclusively on Britbox !!”

Fans delighted seeing the actor out enjoying life again after his battle with long Covid-19 symptoms.
