Seven key Meghan Markle moments on Ellen from life at home to Harry confession

Today Meghan Markle sat down with American TV host Ellen DeGeneres for her second interview since relocating back to the US with husband Prince Harry.

Whilst many wondered if she would reveal anymore bombshells, the interview was definitely a lot less controversial than when she and Harry sat down with Oprah Winfrey back in March.

During her interview with Oprah, the Duchess of Sussex opened up about family life away from the UK and what it was like to be part of the royal family.

But now, sitting down on the sofa across from Ellen, the 40-year-old candidly opened up about a number of subjects, from her last wild night with Prince Harry before they were thrust into the spotlight to sharing adorable photos of their children.

It comes after Meghan made a series of shocking claims during her chat with Oprah in March, including that she felt suicidal during her time in the royal family and suggested that a royal family member had said that they were concerned about how dark Archie’s skin was, writes The Mirror.

Her much more light-hearted interview with Ellen, however, saw her speak warmly about her children and their new life in Santa Barbara.

Here are the most intimate moments from the interview…

Meghan shares rare glimpse of son Archie

Meghan gave her fans another peek at her son, who looks just like her.

The toddler was seen feeding the family’s chickens in an adorable picture as he wore stone-washed jeans and a grey top.

He had his back turned to the camera as he held a wicker basket to feed the chickens.

Fans may have also spotted that Archie was wearing a cute pair of Peppa Pig Wellington boots.

Meghan Markle shows her funny side in prank with Ellen

Meghan played a hilarious prank on unsuspecting members of the public as presenter Ellen DeGeneres whispered.

Appearing at a market stall, the Duchess shopped for crystals and continued to perform bizarre acts, such as closing her eyes and holding a crystal to her head while chanting.

She then placed the crystal down before looking at hot sauces and “mumma loves hot sauce!”

Meghan went on to try the sauces and ate it like a chipmunk, saying: “Mumma wants some heat!”

She then went on to swig milk from a baby bottle.

Meghan opens up about Archie and Lilibet’s cute Halloween costumes

Son Archie transformed into a dinosaur and little Lilibet was a skunk for a Hallowee n, and Ellen Degeneres was able to see the kids in their sweet ensembles when she visited the Mountbatten-Windsor brood.

Meghan said : “We were home and we saw you guys, which was great. But no, we wanted to do something fun for the kids and then the kids were just not into it at all.

“Archie was a dinosaur for maybe five minutes. Not even five minutes.”

Ellen then tells how Harry persuaded Archie, two, to put his dinosaur costume on, saying: “Finally Harry talked him into putting the head on. But Lili was a skunk… it was so cute.”

Meghan replied: “She was a little skunk. Like Flower from Bambi.”

Meghan’s wild last night with Prince Harry in Toronto before going public

Meghan said: “He came to see me in Toronto and our friends and his cousin Eugenie and now her husband Jack, they came as well.

“And the four of us snuck out in Halloween costumes to just have one fun night on the town before it was out in the world that we were a couple.”

Ellen said: “So you went with Harry to a Halloween party and they had no idea it was the two of you?”

Meghan confirmed this, saying: “It was a post-apocalypse theme. So we had all this very bizarre costuming on and we were able to just sort of have one final fun night out.”

Meghan Markle says Archie loves being a big brother

Meghan Markle said little Archie loves being a big brother to Lilibet during her chat on Ellen.

The Duchess of Sussex made an appearance on the final season of the long-running chat show and opened up about what it’s like for Archie being a big brother.

After Ellen asked the 40-year-old about the two-year-old, Meghan beamed with joy and said: “He loves being a big brother. Someone told Harry and me that when you have one kid it’s a hobby and two children it’s parenting.

“And suddenly we were like ‘oh right’. Everyone talks about what it’s like for the second child but no one talks about the adjustment for the first child when the second one comes along.

Meghan revealed that she once tried to copy actor Andie MacDowell ‘s haircut – but ended up getting called ‘Krusty the Clown’ by her peers at school instead.

The 40-year-old spoke about her hair disaster, which had happened when she was a teenager, on Ellen Degeneres’ daytime talk show.

It’s understood that when she was around 13, Meghan tried to copy the actor by getting her haircut, idolising Andie’s style after watching Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994).

The 63-year-old played Hugh Grant ‘s love interest in the film, written by Richard Curtis – which was nominated for several Oscars, BAFTAs and Golden Globes after its release.

The Duchess of Sussex told chat show host Ellen: “I was obsessed with Andie MacDowell in Four Weddings and a Funeral and all I wanted was that perfect little curly haircut.”

Viewers are said to have been shown a photo of a teenage Meghan with her Andie-inspired hairstyle, characterised by curls. Meghan added: “On that first day I was like, ‘this is amazing, I look like Andie MacDowell [in the film]’…”

However, the mum-of-two began laughing and said that it didn’t stay that way. She said that her hair began to change shape, something she hadn’t expected, as a result of her ethnicity.

Meghan Markle recalls son Archie’s cute reaction to children’s book

Meghan was asked whether her son knew that he was featured in her children’s book.

Earlier this year, Meghan released her very first book The Bench, which features the two-year-old.

“He does,” she said, revealing that Archie had also noticed their two dogs, a Labrador called Pula and a beagle named Guy.

“On that first page you open and you see our dogs and he goes, ‘That’s Pula! That’s Guy!’,” she laughed.
