Lorraine Kelly and fellow ITV stars take part in new mental health campaign

Lorraine Kelly and fellow ITV stars have taken part in a new mental health campaign ahead of the Christmas period.

The Scots star has joined a host of other celebrities including Phillip Schofield, Gino D’Acampo, and Scarlett Moffatt to show the hidden side of their on screen life for a new campaign.

The STV and ITV’s Britain Get Talking festive advert hopes to remind viewers about the importance of listening during the festive season when many put on a ‘game face’ to pretend they are alright.

Asked in the video how she is, Lorraine, who is normally sparkling behind the camera, replies to her make up assistant – “Fine – well to be honest I feel like that wee groundhog. Every day is the same.”

Other celebrities, including Joel Dommett, are in the telly snippet which sees them all in the make-up chair speaking about the trials and tribulations of the past couple of years.

In the advert Maya Jama eventually offers to listen to the make-up artist about her trouble after her busy day.

The video ends with the message: “After the last couple of years, we all need an ear. Give yours this Christmas.”

The broadcaster has partnered with charities SAMH, YoungMinds and Mind for the ad which was shot by Motherland Emmy nominated and Bafta winning director Simon Hynd and premieres tonight after ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’.

Lorraine told her fans: “We all know talking’s great for our mental health – but only when we feel heard. That’s why I’m so proud to star in Britain Get Talking’s festive film, featuring yours truly and a whole host of other ITV cameos.

“After the last couple of years, we need an ear. So give yours this Christmas. #BritainGetTalking@itv
