Giovanni Pernice spent Christmas with Strictly co-star on swanky Italian holiday
Strictly Come Dancing 2021 winner Giovanni Pernice celebrated Christmas in style as he jetted off to Italy with his co-star Kai Widdrington.
The professional dancer, who was crowned the winner of the show with his dance partner Rose Ayling-Ellis, flew out to spend time with his close pal over the festive period.
According to The Mirror, over on his Instagram Story, Kai shared videos of the pair playing games together during what looked like a wholesome day.
Kai was sure to tag Giovanni in his posts as he spent quality time with the Strictly champ.
In recent weeks, Strictly Come Dancing fans were thrilled as Giovanni finally won the show – after years of heartache.
The dancer has been a professional on the show since 2015 and has got desperately close to winning the show a handful of times, but has never quite made it to the last hurdle.
However, he triumphed on the show alongside EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and fans were thrilled to see him secure the win after over half a decade on the programme.

Speaking after they won, he said: “It’s incredible. Thank you to this beautiful lady that made all my dreams come true. You became the best dancer, the best teammate. You are a dream Rose, thank you for everything.”
Giovanni joined the show in 2015, where he was partnered with Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote. The pair made it all the way to the final, but they missed out on the top slot and finished joint runners up alongside actress Kellie Bright.

In 2016, partnered with Love Island host Laura Whitmore, he made it to week seven – but was booted out of the show after they lost in the dance off to the series’ eventual winners, Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton.
The year after he made it to the final once again, with Debbie McGee this time, but again he was a runner up.

2018 saw him partnered with Faye Tozer, reaching the final again for the third time in four years, but being beaten out for the top spot by the series’ winners Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton.
He danced with Michelle Visage in 2019 and they made it to week nine, whilst last year he was partnered with Ranvir Singh and the pair made it all the way to the semi-final.
Giovanni finally celebrated his victory this year after an incredible several weeks of dancing.
