Viewers slate new Kingsman movie as new character uses ‘atrocious’ Scottish accent
Viewers have slated the new Kingsman movie for having a character with an ‘atrocious’ Scottish accent.
“The King’s Man” is the third film in the franchise, and serves as a prequel to 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service and 2017’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
It was written by Coatbridge man Mark Millar and London born Dave Gibbons but despite having at least one Scots creative on the team, it doesn’t appear to have made a huge different when it comes to the lingo.
The problem appears to be with the character played by Matthew Goode who adopts a Scots accent for his role.
One fan wrote: “@KingsmanMovie what on earth is that horrific Scottish accent….. no spoilers but you know who I’m talking about…. You could have afforded a voice coach or something.”
Another added: “The Scottish accent in The Kingsman is atrocious laddie.”
Someone else noted: “Not only is the new Kingsman movie an absolutely dreadful film but it has the single worst Scottish accent ever committed to celluloid. So cringe.”
And another said: “Watched the start of Kingsman The Scottish accent from the “Baddie” did my head in I don’t know who’s playing the part because I turned it off but the accent is murder.”
