Zayn Malik admits harassment charge after alleged clash with Gigi Hadid’s mum
Former One Direction stay Zayn Malik has pleaded guilty to harassing Gigi Hadid and her mother Yolanda.
As reported in TMZ, the father of one was “charged with four criminal offences of harassment”, and has pleaded guilty on one and no contest on the other three.
The 28-year-old singer previously claimed that the situation was a “private matter” after Yolanda said he had “struck” her in an alleged assault.
The singer had taken to social media on Thursday to deny that there had been any “physical” altercation but had admitted there were “harsh words” with Yolanda. However he had hoped that the matter would be dealt with within the family.
According to court documents, the singer then allegedly “shoved her [Yolanda] into a dresser causing mental anguish and physical pain”.
Zayn has strongly denied any physical contact was made.
Gigi, 26, according to court documents, claims he screamed at her “strap on some f***ing balls and defend your partner against your f***ing mother in my house.”
Zayn is alleged to have then screamed “Get the f*** out of my f***ing house copper” at a security guard present at the time, before trying to tussle with the man.
On Wednesday, the singer was fined, but with conditions that he was placed on 90 days probation for each count, totalling 360 days.
It has been stated that the former One Direction star must also complete an anger management class and a domestic violence program as well as being banned from having any contact with Dutch-born Yolanda, 57, or the security guard.
A judge could terminate the probation if Zayn satisfies all conditions after six months.
On Thursday as rumours of the altercation surfaced, Malik denied the claim he had “struck” reality star Yolanda.
He said: “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private.”
