The legendary crooner said that he believed the Queen thought he was about to ask her on stage and sing his popular hit Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?

“At a charity event at St James’s Palace about seven years ago I had to get up and sing with a small band for Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh, who were sat ten yards away,” the singer told the Radio Times. “I’ve never been so nervous.”

Rod added: “I think she thought she was going to have to come on and sing Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?

“Instead I did five songs from The Great American Songbook. Her face just lit up.”
