Fans stunned as Meghan Markle plays a murdering ‘princess’ in unearthed TV drama
Before Meghan Markle married Prince Harry, she was best known for her role as aspiring lawyer Rachel Zane but fans have unearthed one of her older acting credits.
The former Hollywood actress once starred in a TV drama episode where she was cast as an on-screen princess who was embroiled in the middle of a fairy-tale murder plot.
Before getting her role on legal drama Suits, Meghan took a number of acting odd jobs and one has resurfaced recently as she starred in an ABC drama The Castle.
The Duchess of Sussex took on the role of princess Charlotte Boyd, Sleeping Beauty, over one decade before she met Prince Harry.
Meghan, 40, stars in the episode of The Castle as Detectives Castle and Beckett are tasked to investigate after two women died – the first, as Little Red Riding Hood, the other, Snow White.
As reported in The Mirror, Meghan’s character Charlotte, is introduced as a waitress later linked to the two victims, both found to have been killed by a cocktail of drugs injected into them.
Charlotte is quizzed over the murders before being arrested and also a victim of blackmail.
Fans commented: “Just watched Meghan Markle in an old episode of Castle – she played such a good part.
“Just felt a bit strange watching her act and thinking of her life now.”
Another fan added: “I am watching an old episode of Castle where Meghan Markle is playing a victim who was being blackmailed. She looks so different.”
A third added: “It was Meghan Markle! Not only that, it was ironically a fairy-tale themed episode, and in her first scene she was dressed as a princess.”
Fans of the former actress turned royal will not be seeing Meghan return to drama roles as she is now focussing on other projects.
Behind the scenes work is on going for with Netflix to produce her upcoming show, Pearl.
Earlier this year the company’s Linkedin account showed they were looking to recruit a LA Production Designer for Meghan’s forthcoming project.
The show is described as a “family series” that centres on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl who is inspired by a variety of influential women.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who is also an executive producer, announced the project via Archewell Productions last summer, although no date has been confirmed for its release.
