Towie star Mark Wright apologises for Halloween costume after fan backlash

Mark Wright has issued an apology after his Halloween costume was called “just wrong”.

The Only Way is Essex star attended celebrations at the weekend dressed as rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, as reported by Birmingham Live.

However, fans quickly condemned the outfit, with the American performer – whose real name is Daniel Hernandez – having faced a slew of serious criminal charges.

In 2015, he pleaded guilty to the “use of a child in a sexual performance” and received a four-year probation period and a 1,000-hour community service order.

The New York born musician was arrested again on racketeering, weapons and drugs charges in 2018.

He also pleaded guilty to nine further charges in February 2019, including conspiracy to commit murder and armed robbery.

But the Towie star said he didn’t know about his offences.

Posting on Instagram today the Heart Radio DJ apologised after fans labelled the costume “just wrong” and asked him what he was thinking.

He also deleted the picture of his costume which was captioned: “Happy Halloween @6ix9ine.”

He wrote today: “My apologies for last night’s Halloween picture.

“I only knew about Tekashi 6ix9ine’s music and not about his offences.

“Had I known, it would not have been my choice of costume.”
